Getting your book reviewed is a very inexpensive yet excellent way to get publicity. Prove your worth: The waiting game: Try not to contact the reviewer daily, asking if they’ve read your book yet. This can result in no review at all or a negative review. If you send a physical copy of your book, you can get delivery confirmation from the post office when you first send it out, that way you’ll know it arrived safely. It’s usually acceptable to send a brief yet friendly email touching bases and asking if they intend to review your book and if so what sort of time frame you can expect. The typical range is from a few weeks to a few months. Thank the reviewer: Traditional Book Reviews: These are the Publisher Weekly, NY Times, etc… these are very, very difficult for a new author to receive. But, it does happen. Typically for these we will print and mail 10 books to the top reviewers, at your cost, and there is no guarantee as to results. Amazon Reviews: It is a great idea to 'stack' your Amazon page with great reviews. Sometimes this happens organically, sometimes an author can have friends and family place the reviews, and sometimes the author can pay a review team to provide a starter group of reviews. Also, it is a good idea to optimize your Amazon listing as well, there are a some other techniques to enhance your listing, and we can do all the above for $295. Blog Reviews: It is great to saturate the internet with reviews of your work. This gets your work into more and more search engine results and thus increases visibility. We have been building a network of blog reviewers and we can get your work into their hands. We pay them a small amount so they prioritize our clients. Typically, we ask for $192 from the author to cover costs. So, please tell us which of the above your would like to start with and I will send you the proper paperwork. - Book Review Dept.
